So, how does it all work? Getting started with load testing at Loadzen is a simple five-step process. It's easy to do and straightforward to set up - all you need to do is:
-
1. Configure your scenarios
What kind of users are you expecting? What are they going to do on your site? Map out each of your user journeys using our handy Chrome plugin and set them up as a new test.
-
2. Set the mix
Make sure that your test reflects your actual traffic patterns and mix up your user scenarios to fit.
-
3. Decide your expected traffic
How many users do you have at the moment? If that traffic increased overnight, what would your site do? Dial up the volume on your test to really find out how your site will fare when that traffic appears.
-
4. Set the speed of your test
When the users start rolling in will it be fast or slow - do you expect steady growth over the next few weeks or do you expect it to come in a flash (because of that next big social media campaign, maybe?). Set the speed at which your traffic will increase to emulate a real-life campaign scenario.
-
5. Start testing!
Get your test on and see what happens, you’ll get real-time results and a breakdown later. We’ll tell you how all of those different users interact, how their journeys differed, and how that affected the overall performance of your website.
